My PLN has made a very slow start, but there has been a lot of learning and 'some' progress, especially on Twitter.
I started setting up my blog (after trying four different platforms) and began using Twitter on the 19th March and started following some renowned Positive Education organisations. I picked up my first follower "thepositivechoice" which was thrilling! In the week that followed, I started tracing regular Pos Ed contributors and started following them, and even commented on WeAreTeachers in hopes of making connections (I received one like for my comment).
During this time I also learnt how to set up Tweetdeck and found this a much easier way to find and track hashtags and followers.
Come to today, and after some disruptions in my personal life, I am throwing myself into making connections and learning more of the Pos Ed world. I have realised that I haven't been active enough both on Twitter or on the other social media platforms. I have spent time tracking hashtags on both Instagram and Twitter that seems to relate best to Pos Ed and teaching, and have posted a well-being classroom idea utilising some of them. Facebook does not seem to utilise hashtags as effectively as the other two, so I posted in a closed teaching group instead. Hopefully I get some responses and then I can go from there! Whilst I am forcing myself to take some direction, the blogging and social media-ing experience is overwhelming and I feel quite out of my depth! Holding onto hope that it gets clearer and easier ...
